Traffic Case Records in Logan County
The citation identifies the court that holds the case. A state-highway, sheriff, or other ticket filed in Logan District Court follows the Kansas District Court and 15th Judicial District route. An alleged city-ordinance violation can remain with Oakley, Winona, or Russell Springs municipal court. Do not assume every citation appears in the statewide district search.
The court-side record can show the citation or case number, charge, plea, settings, disposition, costs, payment, and court orders. Alison Little’s district clerk office maintains Logan district matters. A city clerk maintains its municipal docket. Central Payment Center adds a payment and status channel, but it does not replace the events index or certified file.
Read the Logan Ticket First
The ticket is the first source for the court address, phone, citation number, violation, and response or appearance date. Not every violation has a fine printed on it. A blank amount does not mean no response is due. Call the named court before the date at the bottom when the amount or available choice is unclear.
The issuing court also controls where a contest or record request goes. For Logan district cases, call 785-671-3654 or visit 710 W. 2nd Street in Oakley. Oakley municipal matters go to its municipal clerk at 785-671-3611. No official Russell Springs or Winona online ticket portal was located, so their city offices are the starting point.
Logan County Traffic Ticket Lookups
The Central Payment Center search can locate supported obligations by citation or case number. It also offers grouped searches using license, vehicle, name, or business information. Those sensitive fields are intended for a person checking or paying their own matter. The citation or case number and court are safer lookup keys.
- Read the issuing court, citation number, and bottom date on the ticket.
- Search Central Payment Center by citation or case number when supported.
- For a district case, also search CaseSearch under District and Logan.
- Call the named court if the ticket has not posted or lacks an amount.
- Use the district courthouse terminal or correct municipal counter when needed.
- Record the current court date, amount, and response deadline.
Logan Payment Search Fields
The official portal is a payment and status tool. It is not a public docket viewer. Its field groups are documented so a person can recognize the available self-service routes without exposing private identifiers.
| Search group | Visible fields | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Citation or case | Number and optional date of birth | Preferred when the ticket identifier is known |
| License | License number and state | Own-matter lookup with all-state selector |
| Vehicle | Plate number and state | Own vehicle lookup |
| Name | First name, last name, date of birth | Fallback when the number is missing |
| Business | Business name | Supported business obligation search |
The portal also exposes a Social Security number group. Do not place a birth date, license number, SSN, or plate in a public example. The assigned screenshot comes from the official search.
A result can support payment, but the issuing court remains the source for the full events record and certified disposition.
Traffic Court Dates in Logan County
Start with the date printed on the citation. For a district matter, compare it with the newest setting or notice in CaseSearch and call the Logan clerk if they differ. A later reset controls over an older date that remains in event history. Oakley’s recurring municipal sessions occur on the first and third Wednesday at 5 p.m., but the municipal clerk must confirm an individual citation.
| Citation number | Ticket-dependent identifier, entered exactly as printed, such as CITATION NUMBER. |
|---|---|
| Court | Logan District Court or the municipal court printed on the citation. |
| Date and time | Response or appearance setting, checked against any later reset. |
| Place | Courthouse, municipal court, or other court-approved appearance method. |
| Status | Pending, paid, disposed, or another court-controlled label. |
Logan Traffic Courts Differ
Oakley Municipal Court handles alleged Oakley ordinance violations at City Hall, 415 W. 2nd. Its public page provides a clerk, phone, and recurring schedule, but no case-search form. A district ticket uses Logan District Court and the Kansas systems. A city case does not become a district docket merely because both courts sit in Oakley.
Winona and Russell Springs had no official online municipal traffic calendar or payment portal in the reviewed sources. Begin with the city office named on the citation. If a municipal matter is appealed and receives a district number, the district clerk can explain that newer Logan record, but the city remains custodian of the original municipal case.
Paying a Ticket vs Fighting It
Respond by the date printed on the ticket. Payment is available only when the court and violation permit it. A person who wants to contest must contact the issuing court by the deadline for the correct plea and setting process. For diversion or plea-negotiation questions on a Logan district traffic matter, the 15th District directs callers to the Logan County Attorney at 785-671-1237, without promising eligibility or acceptance.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| Satisfies the listed obligation when the court allows online or mailed payment. | Starts with contacting the issuing court for plea and hearing instructions. |
| Due by the date printed on the ticket or set by the court. | Response must occur by the ticket deadline; do not wait for an online result. |
| Central Payment Center, mail, or another court-approved channel. | The issuing district or municipal court controls the process. |
Act before the deadline: Failure to pay or respond can cause further court action and may lead to license suspension under K.S.A. 8-2110. Call the issuing court at once for the case status and proof-of-satisfaction process. A Kansas reinstatement charge is listed as $122, and an out-of-state driver may face a separate state fee.
Logan Traffic Payment Costs
Central Payment Center accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, debit, and e-check. The card convenience fee is 5 percent with a $1 minimum. The e-check fee is $1. Those processing charges are separate from the fine and court costs.
Mail payments go to Kansas Courts Central Payment Center, PO Box 750200, Topeka, KS 66675-0200. Include the party name, case number, and county. The payment-center phone is 785-260-6105, and its published email is CPC@kscourts.gov. Mailing a payment is not the same as requesting a court record.
The official landing page is shown in the assigned Central Payment Center image.
Confirm that the ticket is eligible before paying. Construction-zone and school-zone fines are doubled under the district instructions. Statutory court costs are added and one set applies per case even when several violations appear.
Two Records: Court File and Driver File
The files have different custodians and purposes. Logan District Court or the proper municipal court keeps the citation case. The Kansas Department of Revenue Division of Vehicles maintains the licensing record. A court payment can satisfy a financial obligation while a separate licensing hold or reinstatement step remains. Contact each custodian for its own record.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept by | Logan district clerk or the issuing municipal clerk. | Kansas Department of Revenue Division of Vehicles. |
| Shows | Citation, events, plea, disposition, costs, payment, and court orders. | Licensing actions, reported convictions, suspensions, and reinstatement status. |
| Access | CaseSearch, payment status, terminal, or clerk request. | Official Division of Vehicles process. |
Logan Traffic Flow in FY2025
The official FY2025 filing report lists 344 Logan district traffic filings: 302 infractions, 42 misdemeanors, and no felonies. Its classification columns show 343 motor-vehicle violations, one other violation, and no ordinance or parking violations. These figures do not itemize Oakley municipal filings.
The disposition report lists 340 outcomes: 36 deferred adjudications or diversions, 17 dismissals, 282 pleas, one other result, no jury trials, and four court trials. Report totals describe annual district flow, not the status of one citation. They also do not promise that diversion is available in a current matter.
Traffic Record Copy Fees
Request a district traffic record from the Logan clerk by case number and document or event date. Inspection, a plain copy, and a certified disposition are different products. Municipal records must be requested from the issuing city. The district’s exact published schedule follows.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plain paper copy | $0.25 per page | Charged for pages supplied. |
| Certified document | $10 per document | Confirm treatment of a multi-page docket. |
| $0.50 first five pages; $0.25 each added five | Ask for an estimate. | |
| Fax | $0.50 per page | Maximum 15 pages. |
| Clerical preparation | $20 per hour | Billed in quarter-hour increments. |
| Professional preparation | $60 per hour | Billed in quarter-hour increments. |
No separate Logan search fee or public document-image charge was found. Do not invent one. A KORA request can be mailed, hand-delivered, or emailed to the proper clerk after confirming the current destination. K.S.A. 45-218 calls for action as soon as possible and by the third business day, subject to its terms.
Logan Traffic Records by Channel
Use CaseSearch for eligible district case events, Central Payment Center for supported payment status, and the courthouse terminal for public material omitted online. The Logan clerk handles phone, counter, and focused written requests. A certified copy comes from the court, not from the payment portal.
City citations use the issuing municipal office. No public export, API, subscription feed, or bulk traffic docket was found. The Central Payment Center terms image comes from its official terms page.
The terms concern payment processing. They do not turn a payment result into a certified court record or full case history.
Logan Licensing Follow-Up
When the court reports satisfaction but a licensing action remains, contact the Division of Vehicles through its official channel. The assigned state image comes from Kansas driver license information.
This separation prevents a common error. The court can certify its disposition and payment status. The state licensing agency controls its own file and reinstatement requirements. Keep both case references when resolving a court obligation followed by a state action.
